Dyed and undyed Merino wool, undyed Blue Faced Leicester wool, cotton nepps. Wet felted.
This is a wet felted portrait inspired by the character of Fuchsia in the renown books of Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake. Her chaotic imagination, innocence and artistic vein are set against the stony background of her room in ancient stony Gormenghast itself. She is holding a green shape, maybe an original leaf found outside, that makes an accent of colour against the grey surroundings. Her bright red dress and light skin contrast with the grey stones of her home.
This small square portrait (around 34x34 cm in size, unmounted) will stand out and define a small space.
Collectors may be interested in acquiring more paintings from the same series.
This piece is part of the "Gormenghast" series by the artist.
