Dyed Merino wool, undyed Blue Faced Leicester wool, tussah and undyed eri silk fibre, undyed wool locks, cotton nepps, angelina fibre. Wet felted.

This is a wet felted painting inspired by a scene of Titus’ tenth birthday, in the renown books of Gormenghast by Mervyn Peake. The figures of The Lamb, the purple-maned Lion, The Wolf and the silly Horse stand out on the dark night background over the lakes. The moon shines above the surreal apparition of those archetypal masks. The background is dominated by deep blues, deep greens and blacks.

This small squarish piece  (around 38x37 cm in size, unmounted) will stand out and define a small space.
