Dyed and undyed merino wool, undyed wool locks, upcycled yarn, undyed Eri Silk fibers. Wet felted.
A study of ornamental cherry tree bark done in wet felt. The background has the plum red colour typical of that tree, and upcycled yarn piping through the wool gives it a pleasant 3D movement. Other details of the bark are embodied by merino wool in greys and blacks, and undyed wool locks. The bark shine and horizontal-lined texture is given by undyed Eri silk fibers. There are hints of green.
This piece is medium-sized (around 30x36 cm, unmounted) and will be a bold modern addition in any space.
